Retreat with Ayya Medhanandi (Non-residential)
October 12 - October 14
In partnership with Theravada Buddhist Community
This retreat will include meditation instruction, group chants, and devotional practice. It will be a wonderful opportunity to practise in this ancient tradition that has transmitted this priceless teaching of liberation to us through two and a half millennia.
This is a three-day event (Friday night, Saturday, Sunday)
- Friday: 7-9 pm
- Saturday: 9 am-4 pm
- Sunday: 9 am-4 pm
On Saturday and Sunday, please bring a simple vegetarian lunch (there are no cooking facilities).
Because this retreat is led by a monastic, please follow these dress guidelines, out of respect for the monastic vows and commitments:
- Wear loose-fitting clothing.
- Pants or long skirts or dresses are fine (no shorts or leggings, please).
- Avoid sleeveless shirts and tops (including tank tops), and those with low necklines. Sleeves that cover the shoulders are fine.
- Avoid torn or ripped clothing.
Also, because many people with allergies can be seriously affected by scents, please refrain from wearing any scented products. These would include perfumes, lotions, oils, and so on, whether natural or artificial.
- SIMT supporter: $95
- Regular: $110
Please register early. Space is limited.
Payment for the full retreat is required to complete your registration. If you are paying by cheque or cash, payment must be received by October 2, 2018. If you have to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances, please contact us email@example.com.
A limited number of scholarships are available. For information, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
As well as registration costs, dana offerings will be gratefully received to help support the nuns at Sati Saraniya Hermitage.
